Conditions of Entry

ENTRANT RESPONSIBILITY
It is the responsibility of the entrant (or their legal guardian) to ensure that all the correct participant information is supplied. Entrants who provide incorrect or incomplete information on their entry forms, whether electronically or written, may not qualify for any gender or age category prizes

ENTRY LIMIT
Entries are limited to the first 1500 paid entries received.

EVENTS
Every swimmer entering the water in each event in which they swim, MUST be an official paid entrant, or REGISTERED Support Swimmer (see Support Swimmer information here). For safety reasons, no un-registered swimmer may enter the water from the start of Event 1 until the end of Event 5.

CUT OFF TIME: EVENT 1 (3km)
Swimmers who have not reached the 1500m mark (halfway) within 40 minutes will be asked to retire from the event.

CUT-OFF CRITERIA: ALL EVENTS
Swimmers may be asked to leave the water if deemed by the Water Safety Team to be a safety risk, or if the next race may be affected.

  • Should it not be possible to hold the event, beyond the control of the organizing committee, entry fees will not be refunded
  • No substitutions
  • Event entry fees do not cover the cost of entry to the Midmar Dam Resort
  • The organizers reserve the right to limit entries in each event
  • The organizers reserve the right to charge an administration fee for changes to a captured entry
  • Entry fees are per person per event

ENTRY OPTIONS
Entries can be completed online, manually (by downloading the form from this website) or on Race Day. Details of all options are on the Entry Options page and necessary documents will be available for download from the website in due course.

RACE CAPS
Each participant will be supplied with a Greendale SuperSpar Capital K Swim Cap which must be worn for the duration of the event

ROUTE INFORMATION
All races start and finish on the main slipway at Midmar Dam Resort.

CATEGORIES
All categories are according to the actual age of the swimmer on Race Day.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ENTRIES
Confirmations of online entries will be available. Manual entries will be acknowledged via email by the Capital K team.

REGISTRATION
Entrants must collect their Race Packs from Midmar Dam Resort from 07:00 on Sunday 1 December 2019

FINISHERS
All finishers of the Greendale SuperSpar Capital K 2019 Swim will receive a medal, an aQuelle water and further products tbc from our sponsors

By entering the event participants are required to sign a Release & Waiver which states:

RELEASE AND WAIVER
I am in good health, physically fit and have trained sufficiently to participate in the event. I agree to comply with the rules, conditions of entry and regulations for this event which includes payment of the entry fee which will not be refunded. I understand that my entry fee does not cover the cost of entry to the Midmar Dam Resort. I hereby release and discharge, the organisers of the Capital K Swim, all sponsors, volunteer groups, medical personnel, and any and all local authorities, from any loss or damage, however caused, arising from my participation in the event, including pre-race and post-race activities.  This waiver applies to my executors, heirs, administrators, assigns and myself. I grant permission to the organisers and sponsors, in terms of section 51 of the Electronic Communications Transactions Act 25 of 2002, to use my name, race information and any photographs, video tape, broadcast and/or telecast footage in which I may appear, for whatever use, at no charge.
