It is the responsibility of the entrant (or their legal guardian) to ensure that all the correct participant information is supplied. Entrants who provide incorrect or incomplete information on their entry forms, whether electronically or written, may not qualify for any gender or age category prizes.


Entries are limited to the first 1500 entries received.

In order to accommodate the younger / inexperienced swimmers, a parent, sibling, swim teacher or other support swimmer may enter the same event. Note this only applies to Events 2 and 3. Events 5 & 6 are restricted to the swimmers in that gender and age group.

Examples: A father may swim with his 8 year-old daughter in Event 2 (Girls 13 & under / Women 31 & over) and a mother may swim with her 11 year-old son in Event 3 (Boys 13 & under / Men 31 & over).

If a 14 to 30 year-old requires the assistance of a support swimmer they will need to enter either Events 2 or 3.

Every swimmer entering the water MUST be an official paid entrant in each event in which they swim. If you swim in Event 1 & 5 you MUST enter and pay for each event.


Swimmers who have not reached the 1500 metre mark within 40 minutes will have to retire from the event.

CUT-OFF CRITERIA – 3km, 1km & 500 metre

Swimmers may be asked to leave the water if deemed to be a safety risk by the water safety team, or if the next race may be affected.

Online payment options include secure payments via Credit Card, SID & eBucks. No faxed or emailed entries will be accepted.Should it not be possible to hold the event, beyond the control of the organizing committee, entry fees will not be refunded. No substitutions. Event entry fees do not cover the cost of entry to the Midmar Dam Resort. The organizers reserve the right to limit entries in each event. The organizers reserve the right to charge an administration fee for changes to a captured entry. Entry fees are per person per event.


Each participant will be supplied with a Honeydew Capital K Swim Cap which must be worn for the duration of the event.


The events start and finish on the main slipway at Midmar Dam Resort


All categories are according to the age on the day of the event.

Entrants must collect their Race Packs from Midmar Dam Resort from 07:00 on Sunday, 3rd December 2017


All finishers will receive a Medal and an aQuelle.

By entering the event participants are required to sign a Release & Waiver which states:


I am in good health, physically fit and have trained sufficiently to participate in the event. I agree to comply with the rules, conditions of entry and regulations for this event which includes payment of the entry fee which will not be refunded. I understand that my entry fee does not cover the cost of entry to the Midmar Dam Resort. I hereby release and discharge, the organisers of the Capital K Swim, all sponsors, volunteer groups, medical personnel, and any and all local authorities, from any loss or damage, however caused, arising from my participation in the event, including pre-race and post-race activities.  This waiver applies to my executors, heirs, administrators, assigns and myself. I grant permission to the organisers and sponsors, in terms of section 51 of the Electronic Communications Transactions Act 25 of 2002, to use my name, race information and any photographs, video tape, broadcast and/or telecast footage in which I may appear, for whatever use, at no charge.
